The name Niji honors Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's Japanese roots and is a symbol of inclusivity.
Because martial arts has enriched every aspect of my own life, I wanted to create a dojo that embraces and celebrates bodies of all types, that is deeply inclusive of LGBTQIA+ communities, that provides trauma-informed self-defense for those of us who need it the most.
A place for all of us to feel empowered and interconnected.

Community
You can make some of your best friends on the mat. We intentionally cultivate a welcoming, respectful, fun, and supportive community. Instructors encourage open communication and model an ethic of care.
Clean & Comfy Facility
Mats and equipment are cleaned and disinfected every day. HEPA purifiers keep the air clean and fresh. Windows, fans, and AC/heat provide comfort no matter time of year or time of day. We have all women's and gender neutral bathrooms.
No Contracts or Extra Fees
In the interest of equity and accessibility, all memberships are on a month-to-month basis and can be canceled or paused at anytime. We don't charge registration fees or promotion fees.

Such a great spot to train! The instructors are professional, the school is clean and safe. Beginners are welcomed and advanced students are challenged to improve. Caren, the owner, has created such a beautiful community of people who are passionate about improving themselves, and fellow students, on and off the mat. Niji is like a home away from home.
